Using and Reading Open Voices

Welcome to our new blog, Open Voices! We’re thrilled that you’re here. With your participation, this site will become an open forum to discuss the healing power of nature, urban planning, the impact of nature on mental well-being, studies, innovations and much more. Your input, comments and suggestions are always welcome.

To get you started, here’s a quick overview of some of the site’s features and how to use them.

The category bar: See that shaded black bar up top? That’s where we’ll highlight a range of different topics. Those category links will change often, so keep your eye on them for fresh content. A full alphabetical list of categories will always be available on the right side of the page under the heading “Categories”.

Twitter feed: Our active Twitter account, @OpenSacred, more than 4,000 followers strong, is a shares nature and urbanism information and engages in conversations with a wide range of followers. Now you can see the feed directly imported into this page. Please follow us on Twitter and join the conversation.

Facebook page: We also welcome you to join our very active Facebook community, with over 11,000 folks conversing and sharing there! Join in at www.facebook.com/OpenSacred.

Featured Posts: The featured posts section on the top right corner of the site will always show a handful of editor’s picks and will point you to stories you may have missed earlier. Click on the text link located below the photo to view the full article.

Photo Gallery: Here, we’ll feature some of our favorite images of our spaces – and submitted photos from you! Stay tuned for photo contests and more visual features.

E-Newsletter: Submit your e-mail in the text box to receive the monthly Open Voices e-newsletter right in your inbox. The newsletter will provide links to notable articles and pull together a selection of the best recent content and features.

The “Facebook”, “Pinterest,” and “Twitter” buttons on the bottom of posts: These buttons are simple – if you’re logged in to Facebook or Twitter, just click your button of choice to share the post with your network. It will automatically “like” the post for you on Facebook or share the link on your Twitter account. And we hope you’ll use those share features frequently to help us spread the word.
