Sophie Katz

Sophie Katz brings passion and knowledge of outdoor recreation and education from a variety of experiences from coast to coast. She studied Natural Resources Management at Virginia Tech and went on to teach outdoor education programming in the redwoods of California and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where she learned the importance of inquiry-based and student-led learning. After obtaining her Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, Sophie returned to her home state of Maryland and is excited that she gets to share her passion for the outdoors with others on the Chesapeake Bay. When not working, Sophie enjoys gardening, cooking, and enjoying all things outdoors with her husband and daughter.
