I am the founder of Parity Homes. Nature is important to me because it represents restoration, resilience, and balance—all values that guide my work and life. In communities that have experienced decades of disinvestment, access to green space and natural beauty is often treated as an afterthought. But I believe nature is a right, not a luxury. It grounds us, heals us, and reminds us of what’s possible when things are nurtured over time. In my work at Parity, integrating nature into the built environment isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about honoring the land, improving mental health, and creating spaces that are truly livable and life-affirming for Black families who’ve long been denied that access.
