Karen Hale


Karen a longtime member of Wesley, and is passionate about gardens and sacred spaces. She is Vice President of the El Rio Reyes Conservation Trust, a local land trust where she can exercise her dedication to protecting and maintaining nature areas. She has been deeply involved in the design and community engagement process for her Sacred Place.

I think every person should have a sacred space to reflect, and find the sacred in nature.

Susie is a mostly retired editor, who spent most of her career covering environmental policy issues. She has lived in D.C. for 35 years and in the Rock Creek neighborhood for 14. When Susie learned of plans to build townhouses on the green space behind her block, she helped organize the neighbors to stop it....
