Sister Clara Muhammad CDC seeks to establish a Sacred Place at Clara Muhammad Square located at 1000 N 47th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19131. The site is a large city park utilized by neighborhood residents, the Masjid congregation, and the adjacent church. Sister Clara Muhammad CDC will collaborate and coordinate with the Friends of Sister Clara Muhammad Square and the Philadelphia Parks and Recs Department as part of the design process and project development to ensure the project is community designs and can be implemented per regulations and ultimately receive Parks and Rec approval for construction.
The vision is to build on the momentum of bringing groups together by establishing designed contemplative features, adding more beauty, and supporting residents and future leaders in shaping their park as an act of community.
