Brian E. Bainnson, ASLA, PLA, Principle of Quatrefoil Inc., is a Landscape Architect with over 28 years of experience in planning and design of environments for people. In 1998, Mr. Bainnson led the Portland Memory Garden design team for the Oregon ASLA Chapter, developing an award winning therapeutic garden for people with Alzheimer’s, their families and caregivers. Since 1998 Mr. Bainnson has designed over 24 therapeutic gardens around the US, including gardens for Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed National Medical Center and Ft Belvoir Medical Center. All of these gardens are used for active patient therapy as well as restorative places for patients, families and caregivers.
In all of Mr. Bainnson’s work understanding of the context, attention to detail, and an ability to understand and give life to the client’s expectations unite the projects. Design and planning are blended with an understanding of the technical complexities of building projects, working with contractors and controlling fiscal realities.
