Brittany Coverdale
Originally from New York, Brittany has lived in Baltimore for over 13 years. She believes that farming can be a powerful vessel for racial and environmental justice. Her background is a hybrid of youth advocacy/development and agricultural education, and loves to explore the way that those worlds intersect. In her free time, Brittany enjoys camping, mycology, ceramics, and doing activities that are grounding. She currently works at Filbert St. Garden as their Garden Coordinator.
Brittany believes that access to and understanding of nature is a human right.
Too often, this right is taken from people. Filbert Street Garden puts the power of nature and connection to it, right back in the hands of the people. It is equal parts sanctuary, food resource, education center, and much more.
By building out additional spaces within the Garden for humans and wildlife alike to thrive is be hugely impactful. The native garden space, which will have sections that are entirely edible, promotes peace, resource sharing, and knowledge opportunities that make Filbert Street so great.
