Bonnie Thomson


Bonnie has been a member of Govans Presbyterian Church for 35 years. She is also a long-time participant of the church’s Earth Care Committee. This group is working to heal local waterways and contribute to sustainability practices on the church property. Bonnie understands the importance of nature spaces, not only for the environmental benefits, but also for the connections that they can provide to the community.

A number of years ago, the church installed their Santa Rosa labyrinth and Sacred Place on the front lawn.

Today, it [the original Sacred Place] still serves the community with a special place to walk among pollinator plants. Opening a community farm on unused church lawn is intended not only to be a sustainability practice, but is intended to bring neighbors together from our surrounding neighborhood.
