Family-centric, outdoor enthusiasts who love to give back to their communities in different ways.
The Morrows were first introduced to Nature Sacred through an event where Alden presented. As a critical care nurse, Chris resonated with our mission to bring contemplative green spaces where they are most needed—especially our work in healthcare.
Chris has experienced firsthand, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, the critical role nature plays in healing. As he put it, “nature and access to fresh air improves rehabilitation, speeds healing, and provides an outlet and activity to fill up the cup of people who are recovering. Be it the need for physical, emotional, or mental healing, nature is an amazing resource and there is a lot of research evidence that demonstrates nature access is extremely effective in recovery from different medical events and in getting back to where they need and want to be.”
Sherese describes the couple as “outside people”. When in nature, she notices that her mind clears and that her mind and body feel most healthy when she’s outside. Whether it’s “under water scuba-diving or on a mountain hiking”, she feels more at peace.
Their generosity and support of Nature Sacred boils down to one thing: they are inspired by their time and nature and want to create that opportunity and experience for others.
Sherese says, “Nature inspires and transforms us and it matters that we create that same experience for others.”
Chris and Sherese live in Omaha, Nebraska, and are excited to be catalysts of the city’s first Sacred Place at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals campus there. They are of the mindset that what is good for their community is in turn, good for their family and through big ways and small, they actively work to uplift the health of their communities.
Chris said, “how many new Sacred Places are being built and how many people want these in their community–not just on the east coast but everywhere – is a testament to the number of communities that need nature access and how the leaders within these communities realize nature’s effectiveness and capacity to heal.”
