A Profile in Giving: Silvia Quezada Yoshimizu

Champion for nature + multi-year donor to Nature Sacred

Several  years ago, Silvia Quezada Yoshimizu encountered Nature Sacred as she explored launching a therapeutic horticulture private practice.  In all her research, the mission and outreach was the most closely aligned with her own mindset.

Despite having no personal connection to Nature Sacred, Silvia felt she had “found her people”.

She feels most passionate about re-connecting people to nature and when she feels passionate about something, Silvia loves to invest—which she has done year over year over year for Nature Sacred.

Not unlike Nature Sacred, nature and community have been through lines in Silvia’s life. Her earliest, fondest memories are of the time she spent with her grandparents fishing on the shore. Silvia grew up in East Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights, a culturally rich community where her family had a flower business. In this way, nature as a healing modality and using nature and things found in nature to connect community has always been important to her.
