Rebecca Uchill

Rebecca Uchill is Director of the Center for Art, Design, and Visual Culture (CADVC) and Professor of the Practice at the College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences at UMBC. She is an art historian, curator, arts writer, and teacher. At CADVC, she supports cultural and educational work in the gallery and beyond, including the designated “Sacred Place” that CADVC stewards on campus.

Our park space on the UMBC campus is a site for reflection, education, unexpected encounters with nature, and sensorial delight. Recently, CADVC has been developing a new K-12 curriculum that is specifically responsive to this site. It is really wonderful to join school tours and share in joy and surprise of crossing paths with a deer or gopher. This is a place of wonder.
