The Light House is a place of belonging and hope for those who are or at risk of experiencing homelessness. The Light House takes an integrated care approach, working with each of their clients to address the unique blend of factors contributing to their situation. Offering a blend of housing support, social services, employment services, and social enterprise, they also seek to ameliorate the underlying factors contributing to homelessness.
The Light House’s existing Healing Garden is one of Nature Sacred’s earliest Sacred Places. Building on this existing partnership, Nature Sacred supported the design and implementation of an interior courtyard space at the same location. This space is currently used as a place for The Light House to host their regular programming and services and community events. Enhancing this site with design features aligned with a Sacred Place will expand their capacity to offer such programming and allow for more connection experiences through a Nature Sacred bench and journal.
