Govans Presbyterian Church is a theologically progressive community empowering people to make the world better. They are a More Light Church, welcoming all people into the life and leadership of the church regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, or sexual identity. Among other things, serving others and earth care are core elements of their work.
The church has been home to one Sacred Place for over 20 years, and recently partnered with Nature Sacred to create a second – a community garden, part of their efforts to steward the planet. Along with their existing orchard, it provides food for their food pantry and weekly free community meal, opportunities for programming, and community engagement.
