Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Wings of America is deeply inspired by the region’s Native communities and their enduring running traditions.

In 2021, Wings of America purchased its headquarters and now seeks to activate the adjacent Skyline Rest Area city parcel as a welcoming community gathering space. This vision closely aligns with Nature Sacred’s mission to create accessible Sacred Places that support well-being, honor culture, and strengthen relationships between people and the natural world.

The proposed project includes intentional features such as a welcoming entrance, walking paths, a reflective space with seating, a gathering area for stretching and movement, and a short loop trail. Site improvements would enhance safety, usability, and visual appeal while maintaining an open, natural character that supports active use and neighborhood engagement.

Proposed green infrastructure strategies would improve stormwater infiltration, support biodiversity, and demonstrate climate-appropriate land practices. Wings of America proposes to steward the site in partnership with the City through ongoing maintenance, cleanup, and community engagement.
