Historic Soquel Cemetery is located at 550 Soquel San Jose Road, Soquel, CA 95073, and sits in the heart of mid-country, adjacent to the Temple Beth El Cemetery Annex. Bordered by a two-lane road to the north and a deep ravine to the south, this long-neglected site has, for decades, fallen into disrepair—becoming both an eyesore and a fire hazard within the community.
The Jewish Community Center of Santa Cruz envisions establishing a Sacred Place at the Historical Soquel Cemetery, a thoughtfully restored and accessible environment where history, nature, and community can converge. This initiative aims to honor the past while creating a serene and contemplative space for all residents to connect, reflect, and engage in ongoing care of this significant local landmark.
