The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park educates youth and adults about the Annapolis area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits and community events.
Embracing Annapolis's long-standing connection with the sea, Nature Sacred's partnership with the Annapolis Maritime Museum provide an opportunity to learn about the city's maritime history and connect with the ocean.
What was once an overgrown, neglected park was transformed by the volunteers and operations staff of Annapolis Maritime Museum into a safe and beautiful waterfront park for the Annapolis community.
Surrounded by a lovely garden tended by museum volunteers, the Sacred Place lies between the museum’s two major structures: the McNasby Oyster Company Building and the Barge House. The space is part of the Eastport Walking Tour and has evolved into a community gathering place for various events.
While visiting one of the 10 Best Art Museums in the US - remember to take a few moments in the Sacred Place there! Congratulations @TheAVAM !
AVAM has been nominated once again for the @USATODAY 10Best Art Museums Contest! 🏆
As the only Maryland institution to be nominated, we just know we can be #1 this year—but we need your help! Make sure to vote once DAILY until 2/13! ❤️
