Casey Trees, a Washington, D.C.–based urban forestry non-profit, is partnering with Nature Sacred to transform a site at Ravenswood Road in the Riverdale Park area into a vibrant, community-centered green space. Casey Trees works to restore, enhance, and protect the city’s tree canopy through planting, conservation, education, and ongoing care, strengthening both the environment and quality of life.
The Ravenswood Road project will involve the removal of invasive plant species and the reintroduction of native trees and plants, creating an ecologically rich habitat that supports biodiversity, improves water quality, and strengthens climate resilience. The vision for this site is to establish a passive park that showcases native and pollinator-friendly species, while offering the community opportunities to connect with nature and learn about local ecosystems.
