Washington Parks & People works to grow city-wide park-based health, equity, and justice through community innovation and partnerships. They are longtime partners of Nature Sacred and have 4 Sacred Places at other sites that they work with.

This Sacred Place would create a healing space at the ancient headwaters of the Piney Branch tributary of Rock Creek. The site itself was previously used for automotive repairs, and since then, neighbors have reclaimed it, beginning to add green back to the space such as in the way of fruit trees. This space would be a unique resource for this community, as other nearby parks are primarily for active recreation and do not offer opportunities for reflection.
