About this Sacred Place

Washington Parks & People has been a strong impetus behind the reclamation and revitalization of one of D.C.’s most historic and memorable parks. Formerly Watts Branch Park, Marvin Gaye Park is the longest continuous city park and creek in D.C. Since 2001, its decline from the previous decades has been turned around, cleaned up and once again made a place for people to enjoy themselves and their community. Nature Sacred partnered with Washington Parks & People to include a sacred space of reflection within the park, including thoughtful landscaping that lends to quiet privacy and meditation. Huge strides have been made in the community reclamation of the park to restore it to the clean, safe and green condition in which it began.
